the opening guitar is really pretty, and the
movie samples blend with the music quite seamlessly. i don't really think
the fadeouts in the big rhythm passages are all that necessary, and the
synth is a bit out of balance when it comes it, but it doesn't sound any
less professional because of it. all the lead lines are very well-constructed
and the drums are nice and pulsing. the cymbals are a bit far back to be
high-end instruments and should probably be out a bit. the compressed-sounding
effect on the lead guitar makes it sound nin-ish and i like that quite
a bit. i've been trying to do something similar in cool edit and am about
to just give up and do it with a guitar. but anyway, it makes a nice texture
when it plays underneath the high synth that kind of reminds me of castlevania
or early sisters of mercy. very dark and elegant. i kind of wish the bass
would fade out at the end instead of being cut off. kane singing with the
bass synth at the beginning is very, very eerie. this is a nice song to
give people nightmares.

wizard slayer is back with metal. And he tracks
it real good. The song has a good bass line. The drum line is very musch
with the song. The distorted guitar samples are as always, good and almost
real. The vocals are blended in a nice manner with the song. I suggest
that wizard slayer change the cutlead sample and the bass sample. They
sound a bit off track. Rest all instruments are in place, in the sense
that they sound great. This song sounds a bit frightening but hey, that's
what makes the song cool. I am still flabbergasted, this guy uses 8-bit
samples yet his songs sound pretty good. I suggest you go professional.
Is there anywhere i can get the 16-bit version of your songs?

I welcome another entry by Wizardslayer to
the modrev. "Poltergeist" represents the bass-goes-first approach that
I like in rock. At the beginning, it seems like another voice track by
W-l, but only a few words are said finally. The Eight times bass at the
same pitch in a bar and decent but simple drums - the style of this song
is a bit different from the other two modrev entries by this author. The
sound is rawer, less pop, more underground, punk or so. The solo quitar
plays the right hopeless sad long tones, there is a fast technical solo
as well. These parts might not be as convincing, as the others, if you
consider Wizardslayer's ambition to make the rock modules real. Being somebody
for whom the punk and new wave of 80ies is the very music of his heart,
I give 7.
